The death toll from Pakistan's worst floods in 80 years continues to rise as rescue workers struggle to reach tens of thousands of people cut off in the country's northwest. Disaster management official Adnan Khan said at least 1,100 people were dead and warned the toll would rise as rescue workers reached remote areas.  The United Nations added more than one million people are in need of urgent help after heavy monsoon rains caused widespread flooding.  The destruction across Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa province was "massive", according to local disaster official Latifur Rehman.  "Aerial monitoring is being conducted, and it has shown that whole villages have washed away, animals have drowned and grain storages have washed away."  Pakistan's government has sent more than 30,000 troops to help with the relief effort, which has been aided by a slackening of the rains.
